Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper Slam Dunk “Hot Stuff” for Donna Summer Tribute

Neo Plexus –

In what seems to be extended market-testing with an emphasis on personal feedback thus far unparalleled in my experience, the camp of support for Donna Summer is trying to create something truly to be appreciated, and not just  to transfer digits in an expedient manner from your account over to a record company.

The new mix of “Love to Love You Baby“, by Giorgio Moroder, seems to be a perfect reworking, as he updates the beats without compromising her voice and the character of the song.  However, after hearing remixes of “Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)“, and “On The Radio“, I suspected the tribute album may be a $15.00 single for Giorgio, with 12 bonus tracks.

Take a listen and take heart:  Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper created a chill, dance-groove, not only without obfuscating Donna’s vocals, but by letting them be the rock that won the song a Grammy, and helped to land Summer in the Hall of Fame (they so messed up, but I digress).

Enjoy… and for fans who are still grieving, after a few listens, you just may experience some sweet Summer Magic and Healing.
